Bulk Email:
For a long time, national
television has been the greatest possible place you could advertise a
business. But who can afford the exorbitant rates? The
average marketer will never have a commercial on TV, so let's talk
reality here.
Let's talk about something the average
marketer can start
doing today to advertise to the entire world.
 | Spam,
also referred to as "UCE" or "Unsolicited Commercial E-mail," basically
involves sending e-mail to large lists of people with whom you have no
previous relationship. The e-mail addresses may have been "harvested"
from AOL or CompuServe forums and member directories, classified ads,
public newsgroups, etc… BAD... maybe UGLY.

Bulk e-mail,
on the other hand, involves e-mailing your previous customers,
newsletter subscribers, opt-in e-mail list, etc… These are individuals who
have willingly given you their e-mail addresses. GOOD very GOOD! |
Rules To Follow When Doing A Bulk Mailing
The best way to guarantee that each mailing you do generates the
dramatic, positive response that you want – and that you aren't accused of spamming
which will damage your reputation – is by following the
few simple rules listed below. We suggest you design your email ad
with the following in mind:
- Be sure to include your full company name.
- Provide a phone number that customers and subscribers can use
to contact you. This is easily included along with your name at the
end of the e-mail.
- Provide a valid e-mail address in the "From" field for people
to reply to. (Do NOT use stealth technology to hide the origin of the
e-mail!)
- Include an option to "unsubscribe" at the bottom of ALL
mailings you send and be sure that anyone who requests to be taken off
your mailing list is removed immediately! This is EXTREMELY important!
