There are thousands of classified ad sites on the Internet, and I don't doubt that software exists that will blast your classified ad to these sites. But the assertion that this system is the only way to make serious money with an Internet business is crazy! As a matter of fact, free classified ads are one of the most ineffective ways to advertise on the Internet that I know of, since those free sites are bloated with "business opportunities" and "get-rich-quick" ads that serious buyers don't read. Paid classified ads from serious sellers can be more effective, especially those posted on niche sites.

These days, the real Internet "classified ad" action is with eBay (www.ebay.com) and similar online auctions -- the Web's equivalent of the classified ad. Here you have a marketplace of hundreds of thousands of active sellers and millions of active buyers -- and a system that rates both sellers and buyers to minimize fraud. Tens of thousands of small Internet businesses thrive in this huge marketplace. Of course, eBay isn't the only way to make serious money with the Internet -- there are many viable models -- but many businesses on eBay do quite well indeed.
